The noise in our lives…..

Image

Today while coming back from work, I was thinking of all the noises we all have in our lives. When I reached home and prepared the evening tea, the thoughts still kept coming to my mind.

I almost felt like closing my ears. I felt better only when I went for a nice walk. The weather was really nice today.

I tried to define the noise in my life – and remembered all the people, things and actions that hold no relevance for me but I still pay attention to them sometimes. That’s right, I pay attention to noise! I think we all do to some extent.

Who said what? Why did he say that? What’s his/her intent? What is my friend’s friend doing on the weekend. Does this really matter?

Every technological development has a good side and a bad side. Social networking is one of them. It is a pretense that makes us feel we are more liked by others and we have a lot of friends. It also generates a whole lot of noise in our lives.

………..Think about the famous people who are no longer in this world – Michael Jackson, Mother Teresa and so on….why do we remember these people? We remember them because of their work – because of their contributions to this world, because of what they did, because of their focus, dedication, devotion……Not because of how many friends they had or how many followers they had or how many promotions they had or even how much money they had!!
We remember famous people because of their genuine contributions to this world – for many generations to come…..

The ratio of these people is very less. Most of us get stuck in the noises in our life and think that “That’s what life is”….

Well…nobody knows what exactly life is…..but Life is not forever.

We have a limited amount of time, to do something worthwhile, to make a difference, to spark someone’s inspiration, to be remembered and recognized by other people – To be valuable!

We don’t have forever. All we have is now.

It’s thus so very important to get rid of the noises, the people who don’t matter, the things that don’t matter and focus on what we are, who are are – without any pretense, any fake identities, any special efforts to prove that we are better than anyone else.

When the noise fades away, we get peace, satisfaction, self-love and a true identity. We believe in what we are – inspite of what others think about us.

If someone/something bothers you, it’s noise. Get rid of it.

Don’t choose noise. Choose peace, achievement, love and your true self.

Too Late!!

I read a quote today. Its image is posted below. It was tagged under ‘love quotes’, however I think its applicable to our entire life.

After reading it, I immediately thought, am I getting late at doing certain things? I also remembered one of my old posts, ‘Don’t procrastinate, Contemplate’.

I recalled the folders I have created on my computer. I have four folders on my desktop titled Dream 1, Dream 2, Dream 3 and Dream 4. As I work on my dreams or collect the relevant material/information to make them come true, I place it in those folders.

One of those dreams has already come true! 🙂 The rest of them are a little tough, so I’m working on them. 😉

I know I keep repeating that, we need to enjoy every moment of life and make the most of it.

I am trying to approach the problem from a different angle today – From the eyes of people who say that their life is almost over and they have played their innings.

We all know that we have limited amount of time on this earth. We(including me!) still waste our time doing things which will hold no value for us ever.

Some of my relatives, friends, family – who are old now – say that their life is almost over. It makes me very sad, firstly because it makes me emotional and secondly because it makes me feel life is so transient. It’s a phase.

There is no guarantee about how long one is going to live and there is no point fearing it also. You fear the unknown but the fact that ‘life ends’ is known to everyone.

Knowing that life is precious encourages me to work harder on my dreams.

As long as you are alive, It’s never too late to work on your dreams and inspire others to work on theirs. Begin now.

One journey ends…and another begins….

Life is a journey. When you travel from one place to another, do you remember the ‘start and end points’ OR ‘the things in between’?

Sometimes we even forget, how ‘it’ started or when ‘it’ ended…. All we remember is… It happened sometime and we had fun! We remember the beautiful moments in between.

When one journey ends, another one begins that very moment.
It is important to value each journey and understand that journeys are fun when they are full of surprises! (Some good and some not so good)

Journeys have the power to create memories. Journeys teach us a lot of things.

It is important to enjoy each journey and it is also important to disconnect from it and connect to a new one, when the time comes.

We may remember the people we meet during these journeys. Many of them could be strangers, some of them friends and some of them acquaintances.

The lady in the cafetaria, the librarian, the store keeper, the teacher, the student… these may be our co-travellers in the journey.

We don’t even know for how long, we will know them or stay in touch with them. However, we can remain in their memories since we share the same journey. These memories stay alive even when the journey is over.

Down the line, they may think about us and say, “Oh! I have met him/her before! and he was…….(cute/funny/sad/happy/angry/furious/nice…)”

We are not related to all the people we meet, but we do travel together for a period of time.

I read somewhere that “We are all traveling towards the future at the rate of 60 minutes per hour!” and we all need to make the most of every minute.

It is important to mark each journey with smiles, laughter, fun, joy and giggles. These emotions shall later transform into memories and stay with our co-travellers! That’s how they may remember us and we may remember them.

Are you ready for your next journey? How are you planning to enjoy with your co-travellers? Are you ready to create happy memories?

When one journey ends, another begins. That’s life.
