Guess the tone – Is ‘that’ how you do it?! :O ;) :) :{ :/

Positive Criticism.

Can criticism ever be positive? Can it ever lead to something good?

Do you avoid criticizing others?
and
Can you take criticizing remarks made on you, in good spirits?

If you avoid criticizing others, or look over their mistakes, it may very well imply, that you expect others, to ignore your own mistakes and faults as well.

The reality is – Unfortunately, in this world, if people keep patting each other on the back without pushing each other to improve, they can not grow or do better.

“How to take criticism sportingly?” – This is one training, which probably every person should get during childhood itself.

It’s ok if some people do not like you or your work, it’s ok if they do not understand your efforts, it’s ok if they do not recognize you. You are what you are and you need to be happy about it. You need to be yourself!

If you do not like something, it’s ok to say it. Ofcourse, it is important to be polite towards others and show the minimal amount of courtesy in various situations. But, it is equally important to have an opinion – good or bad.

If something happens to you, try to categorize it as “towards your good” or “towards your bad”. It will help you judge people and situations better. It will also help you judge yourself better.

When someone says, “Hey, you didn’t do that right!”:

Step1. Understand that he is recognizing something bad in you or your work.
Step2. Accept that there is room for improvement.
Step3. Take a step back and do not take the comments personally. Disconnect ‘the comment’ from ‘the person’ who said it.
Step4. Analyze – can you improve the situation to avoid it in future?
Step5. If you can, then improve it, taking it as a lesson.
Step6. If you cannot improve it , take it as a lesson in understanding ‘the person’ who made the remark. Think, why that person is making such a remark and change your communication style to handle the situation.

There’s a lesson either ways. A lesson for you.
That’s what positive criticism is – a lesson for you to grow.

If you focus your energy on trying to change others, it may not be very productive. Change yourself.

Be like flowing water, that can fit into any vessel, any container ~~~~ of any shape. Hard or Soft. Symmetrical or Crooked. Water never loses its worth and internal properties.

There’s a famous proverb: The key to happiness is good health and bad memory. Forget the criticisms, but remember the lessons learned!

Criticism is good if it leads to constructive thoughts in your mind. If you welcome applause, you must welcome criticism with an open mind.
~ In all situations stay cool!

By the way, were you able to guess the tone in the title above? 🙂

Destiny….Things not in our control….

Some things are not in our control…. no matter how hard we try… someone else’s intervention is required in order to achieve/complete them.

For instance, an interview: We can not interview our own self and get selected for a job. Someone else has to test our abilities.

A match: We can not win a match against our own self. We have to play against some one else.

We are dependent on other people at several instances through out our life. Maybe that’s what is called destiny…maybe that’s what is not in ‘our control’.

These times make us feel helpless. We think, what more can we do to change things? How can we somehow make the situation better? Nothing works. Even prayers don’t seem to work.

We can not control who we meet in our lives. We are destined to meet some people and destined not to meet many others.

Every person is a lesson and some lessons are repeat telecasts too! Until we learn each lesson well.

We try not to worry during these times but since mind is a wanderer, it wanders and worries.

There is a famous dialogue from a movie: “In life, you will always see two paths. One easy and the other difficult. The easy one will give you a lot of happiness initially, but in the end you will lose. The difficult path will test you, strain you, but in the end you will win.”

It’s important not to give up. One should not give up on himself and on his destiny. When one door closes, another opens up. The delay may seem challenging but everything works out in the end… if it is destined to work.

When things are not in your control, let them flow….let them go by….Just wait for the right moment.

Imagine ….you want to cross a road and there is heavy traffic. There is no way you can control the traffic. You have to ‘wait’ for the traffic to stop for the red signal …and then you can cross the road. Then the path will be clear….right in front of your eyes.

Wait for that moment…. Just wait….

In the worst case scenario, when you are stuck in a locked room…..Knock on each door that you see, look out through each window….keep knocking, keep looking, keep trying….Do not judge any opportunity…Do not judge yourself….. If you are destined to live, breathe and be successful, you will be.

Do not give up on your destiny and your life, until destiny gives up on you and your life.

Some things are not in our control and we need not be in their control.

Pamper yourself… you’re worth it!

At least one weekend out of a few weekends, take a good break and pamper yourself. Just seclude yourself from the rest of the world and take care of your body and your thoughts.

Your body serves you throughout your life. How much time do you spend giving it the essential nutrients? When did you last sit next to a pool with a book in your hand or took a bubble bath? When did you lie down on a beach? When did you last look at the stars?

Once we develop a good relationship with ourselves and our mind, it responds to us better. If our body is happy and relaxed, we can feel our blood circulation. Every heart beat is more resonant and rhythmic. We understand our feelings and emotions better. We feel happy that we are alive.

Everyone needs such weekends to relax, calm down and live each breath.

No matter how wealthy you may be, if your mind and body are not happy, you are unhealthy!

I believe that once you have a stable job and are content with your career, it’s important to also focus on your health. The meaning, value, level and definition of contentment varies for different people but it is essential to be content at some point in life.

Because if you are not content… you will always be running behind something….and you will never get a chance to relish what you already have.

Pampering yourself is being content with yourself for that moment and being thankful for this life.

I read that when ever you are angry or upset, close your eyes and imagine still water… calm, clear and peaceful. Imagine that you’re sitting next to a lake and try to live that dream in your mind.

Life is too short and before you realize its worth… it just moves on…

Take out time…pamper yourself……love yourself….. You’re truly worth it!
