God likes Comedy! :)

Image

Believe me, God likes Comedy! How can God not like comedy? He would just stress a lot, if he only handled the complaints and unending requests of other people!!

God likes to add a little bit of comedy, excitement, fun and mystery to our lives. That is why, when you take a route thinking that, there will be less traffic, you find more traffic instead.

When you prepare for an exam and are 100% sure of doing well in it, suddenly you hear there might be a retest, due to some funny reason.

When you are sure you will land a particular job, suddenly you get an interview call from a better company.

Isn’t all this funny? Destiny wants us to have fun and not take life so seriously.

So what – if things don’t go our way, it does not mean there is no other better way.

God wants to have fun with us, and teach us in the process. He is too smart to deal with! He is all-knowing and omnipresent. How can someone run away from him?

Life is full of comical people, stories, instances and co-incidences.

For a very long time, I took life very seriously. Everything I did, had to be as per the ‘rules’. Slowly, I started having fun. And now, in my work life and personal life, I try not to get attached to successes or failures. I just try to work hard each day.

I follow my passion. If someone laughs at me or hurts me, I feel God is laughing at me and there is definitely some lesson behind it. I can improve.

Life is a lot of fun, if you live one moment at a time. Imagine that all people around you are movie characters. Observe how their stories are unfolding.

Look at the expressions of people travelling on the metro. Smile. Smile – more often.

Thank God for everything. Relate with his comical side and be strong to bear everything. Life is not forever but it’s all worth it! Life is fun and God is a true friend who pulls your leg every now and then! 🙂

The World…

Image

All people in the world,no matter what country, faith or religion they belong to, have the same ways of expression. When they are happy- they smile, when they are sad – they cry, when they are nervous – they shiver and when they are complaining– they groan.

Every individual has the same feelings for his or her children. Most of them try to work hard, one way or the other to earn money and fulfill the needs of their family.

They may go through the same hardships, the same struggles and the same health issues in their lives.

If two people from different countries – who speak different languages, are left alone on a deserted island, ultimately- they will find some way to communicate, because having a company is always better than being all alone. They may become the best of friends or the worst of enemies but, there will be some communication and exchange of ideas.

In spite of so many similarities and so many dependencies amongst each other, people still fight, argue, and indulge in merciless killing and atrocious acts.

The people of the world need a way to deal with their emotions. The problem is not about communication or speaking a common language, it’s about having common thoughts. – It’s about understanding the ‘silent expressions and emotions’ peacefully.

In order to move constructively to the next level, the world needs peace. Every person has to be peaceful within his own self. There has to be a level of satisfaction with what he has, what he owns and what he earns.

Before having any expectations from anyone else or even from people of another country, they need to look at their own problems and deal with them.

This world is beautiful and it needs beautiful emotions. If a woman adopts a kid, not from her own origin, she will still be his mother. If a child is taught to beat other kids, he may even beat his own family members one day.

It’s all about values – Integrity, Peace, Love and Cooperation.

Everyone has to die and that moment has been decided by God. Why do people try to control God’s ways and want to become God themselves?

And for people who are Atheists, can hurting someone else make them stronger? Will they be able to compare their strength with every single person in the world in their limited lifetimes? Who are they trying to fight?

Today, with globalization and modernization, the world can gain a broader perspective about human emotions. This can help generate positivism and self worth among all human beings. Every person can contribute towards a better world, a better life. It is possible for 10 friends from 10 different countries to travel together on a vacation. It is possible for them to relate, talk, learn and grow. The world needs to be united. Not for one person or one country but for humanity.

It is the need of the hour.

Blessings of Elders….! :)

ImageBlessings of elders hold a lot of meaning in my life.. they are probably most significant and valuable for me, as compared to all the other expensive things in life!

Fun in the family, teachings of grandparents, unconditional love of parents, cheerfulness of kids and so on…….I’ve not enjoyed anything else …more than these little things!

I’m living so far away from my family that I miss these even more! 🙂

When any elderly person gives me blessings, I feel I have a connection with god. It’s a different kind of feeling….

When I am able to bring a smile to my family member’s face,  I , in turn feel happy.

In today’s world, the concept of family is losing its value. We are forgetting the wisdom and the lessons shared by our previous generations. Maybe, we just don’t have time for them.

I never consider talking to an elderly person, a waste of my time. No matter what the conversation is about, I’ve always felt there is some hidden lesson for me.

It’s a blessing to have a loving family… It’s an honor to have people around you who love you and respect you…who are there to wipe your tears and hug you when you need it!

It’s a beautiful emotion…..

I don’t know, if anybody can ever see god……but if you can respect your elders the same way… there’s really nothing else left to do. I feel sad when I see old people sitting all by themselves, in an old age home or when there’s no one around them to ask , how they are?

Respect the elderly people because you will get old too! Take out time for them, no matter what.

Each wrinkle on their face recites the story of a decade! Those lessons are more precious than diamonds. Those are the pearls I’d like to collect throughout my life!

Rediscover Yourself….Every time you are lost…!

You are special

Every time you try to be someone you’re not…even if you enjoy it for sometime… later you’ll want to come back to your own self… ‘YOU’.

I don’t know if we all have a purpose to fulfill or we are here just to enjoy life…
but there is one thing which is definitely true….

Every person is unique in some way! Even identical twins are not mentally alike!

Don’t you think, it is important to retain our identity throughout our life?
Do you think your principles are strong enough to not deter you?
Are you happy being yourself? If not, why?

If god was happy creating you the way you are and put you on this earth, just the way you are…. why aren’t you happy with what you are? Aren’t you in agreement with God?

We all waver and try different different paths of life…different ways of living…different personalities, different ideas…but imagine, if God were to discover you, wouldn’t he be able to?
He can probably easily identify you from a crowd… he can probably identify every individual on this earth. (At least it’s my belief!) 😉

What’s so special in you that God can identify you among millions of people? What is it that you have which others don’t? If you see yourself through the eyes of God (!!), you can identify yourself!

Make a list of what you like, what you do, what you are comfortable with, what gives you peace, what energizes you, what makes you smile, what makes you believe in God.
What do you like to do repeatedly to keep yourself content and in sync with god?

Again, make a list of things you do not like, which dampen your spirits, which take you far away from peace….and …don’t do those things! You don’t have to. You are not answerable to anyone except yourself.

Stick to your beliefs. Stick to being yourself. That’s the greatest possession you have throughout this journey!

You don’t have to ‘fit into’ this world or a particular society. You are an integral part of this world.

Keep rediscovering yourself, until you discover yourself completely and then polish that soul… that ‘You’ in you.

Do not get lost …Do not get influenced….Do not try to impress others… Do not be scared to fail…. If you fail by just ‘being yourself’, it’s fine…because at least you did not lose yourself in the process!

I am happy being myself because that’s what makes me comfortable! I am rediscovering myself to make my beliefs stronger.

There are too many illusions in life, the ‘make-believe’ things which make you feel good only for a few moments. And…then you later regret the moments when ‘you weren’t you’.

Find yourself, that’s the only possession we were born with and the only possession we have until we die.

Prayers…

Prayers have the power to heal the soul
Prayers give strength, prayers give control
They make you believe in a future that’s bright
They tell you that… everything’s gonna be alright
They are the …beginning and they are the… end
They can be a person’s…”best friend”
They are sung through the heart… that’s where you feel
They take no pride… they make you kneel
Every place is perfect …to say a prayer
Choose your own language, anytime, any where
There are no special…words designed
You can even say it…within your mind
Keep yourself calm …as you hear…
the words of your heart… through the prayer
Pray when you can… if not always…
Say “thankyou” or “sorry” as you phrase…
Use simple words which are easy to understand…
Prayers do the magic, just like God planned…
Some people use big words in a prayer…
Every prayer is special, every style is fair…
Pray to connect… with your inner voice…
God will give you blessings along with poise…
Dont pray if you dont want to…god won’t say a thing
But when “he really asks” you, you “will have” to sing! 🙂

Roles…..

I’ve read that “people play roles in our lives”. At one time, I used to strongly believe in this. Probably when I was in school or college, I believed that people played roles in my life. Somehow, I don’t believe in it now.

I feel, “we” choose who we want to have in our life and we ourselves decide the role they are going to play.

We sometimes don’t let people play the role they want to play. At other times, we even meet people who don’t essentially play any roles in our lives.

As life moves on, we are required to transition to the practical side of life. (Bills, Grocery, work , family needs, money) It becomes necessary to deal with these things. No matter how hard you try to run away from them. We lose touch with friends. Everyone moves on, doing their own chores.

How does the role play fit in our life then? Are these temporary roles? People who used to very important at one point of time, may not be so important today. How do we measure the importance of a role? Is it the number of times we talk to them, call them, miss them? Is it the effect they have on our lives? Or is it the fact that there presence is crucial to our life (At a certain point in time)

“Roles”….this word held a lot of meaning for me at one point. Today, it doesn’t.

Today, I identify with only one role. The role that I have played in my life. The paths that I have taken at various points in life. The role that I would like to play in my life in future.

I believe in God and Destiny. I don’t know if god writes our “roles” or gives us the choice to write our role ourselves. I don’t know if he checks like a movie director, “Would he/she be comfortable with the role I am giving him/her?”

Sometimes, we don’t even know what impact our role will have on other people’s lives. Its not transparent. Its hidden. The only thing we can be sure of knowing is: What role did I play in my life and how it impacted me?

Experiment with roles….give yourself the role of an artist, a teacher, a musician, a lover, a singer, a sports person, a partner, a parent, a child, a philosopher….. See which role you fit in best…and then PLAY THAT ROLE! Since you play that best, it will have maximum impact on your life and other people’s lives. That’s all you can and should identify with.

You don’t have to play every role perfectly. But try to play at least one role perfectly. All roles that you play may be small roles but they ultimately do add to the bigger picture.

Don’t worry about who/what else is impacted by your role. As long as you know you are playing the best role you can! That makes your life worth it!… That role WILL surely make you happy.
