No rules in life.

Life changes so very quickly. It does not give us enough time to think and plan the next step. People leave….plans change….priorities change….

All the people whom I knew in school are only profile images to me on social channels now. I don’t know much about them. All the people whom I met in college have moved on in life to new professions, new spheres of learning, new phases of life.

When I look back ….I wonder, what did I learn from all the people who shared some moments of life with me. What were the lessons life taught me when they were around?

Some people have large social circles and channels. I wonder if they ever spend time analyzing or imagining what purpose the other people played in their lives? Do they even have time to do that?

There are no rules in life. If you want to spend your entire life meditating, you can. If you want to spend your entire life dreaming, you can. If you want to spend your entire life socializing, you can. If you want to spend your entire life studying, you can.

It’s what you want to do and not what others want you to do. Many of us change our priorities based on what others expect from us and in the end, all those people don’t even matter to us. Only a handful matter in life.

I changed myself for a lot of people. I changed my rules for a lot of people…..people who don’t even matter anymore.

People who know what they are doing, why they are doing what they are doing and where are they heading are most successful. But again, there are no defined rules for success.

If you think being healthy is success, you can be healthy. If you think being rich is success, you can be rich. If you think having fun is success, you can have fun. If you think, being famous is success, you can be famous.

So, the conclusion – we have no rules to life and no rules to success. Are there any rules at all then?

If you want to be rude, you can be rude. If you want to be polite, you can be polite.

You define the rules, you follow the rules and you bear the consequences.

Do you define your own life rules? Do you think you need any rules at all?

The rules you define – Define you.

You define your life. Define your life today.

Testing Times

Image

Life is a roller coaster ride. We all go through ups and downs many times in life! The testing times teach us to remain calm and patient. Those are the times when we reflect back on our mistakes, our weaknesses and take a moment to learn from them.

One should not be scared of testing times because fear will only make the journey more difficult. It’s important to appreciate the change these times bring in you! It’s important to realize that you become a better person, just because of these moments.

I’ve encountered many people who choose easy paths, who are scared to do wrong, scared to make mistakes, scared to innovate! They need an affirmation on every action they take. Half of their life is wasted in the hope that others will affirm their actions.

I have a very good mentor whom I respect a lot. If I ever ask him, “Did I do it right? Was I good enough?” He responds by saying, “You’ve not made enough mistakes. There’s a lot to learn!”
And, I am inspired to make more mistakes by trying new ways of doing things! 🙂

It is important to encourage yourself and push your limits, so that you become a better individual!

It’s easy to praise other people, it’s even easier to praise yourself. However, it’s very difficult to critique other people positively. It’s even more difficult to critique your own self positively!

We have our own beliefs and convictions and sometimes, it’s difficult for us to convince ourselves that ‘We may be wrong and it’s ok to be wrong!’.

If I look back, I realize that my greatest strengths showed up in my most difficult moments. That’s when you rise high up!

Do not fear failure and do not fear people. Challenge yourself each moment, each day.

If you’re scared to go to a new place, for once, just go…
If you’re scared to ask a question, for once, just ask…
If you’re scared to face an audience, for once, just face it…

Sometimes we wonder, how many more testing times will we have in life? How many more tests and how many more battles? The truth is, it’s never enough!

Stay calm during the trials of life, be positive, believe in yourself, do not give up…..Find new ways….Explore new places…Experiment with new roles….Keep trying!

Once u find your goal, stick to it wholeheartedly.

Exude confidence and enthusiasm. Consider yourself smart enough to handle new challenges and humble enough to not boast about them.

Carve your path and do not stop. Just do not stop until your last breath!

Look up to the testing times. They will only make you stronger.

Destiny….Things not in our control….

Some things are not in our control…. no matter how hard we try… someone else’s intervention is required in order to achieve/complete them.

For instance, an interview: We can not interview our own self and get selected for a job. Someone else has to test our abilities.

A match: We can not win a match against our own self. We have to play against some one else.

We are dependent on other people at several instances through out our life. Maybe that’s what is called destiny…maybe that’s what is not in ‘our control’.

These times make us feel helpless. We think, what more can we do to change things? How can we somehow make the situation better? Nothing works. Even prayers don’t seem to work.

We can not control who we meet in our lives. We are destined to meet some people and destined not to meet many others.

Every person is a lesson and some lessons are repeat telecasts too! Until we learn each lesson well.

We try not to worry during these times but since mind is a wanderer, it wanders and worries.

There is a famous dialogue from a movie: “In life, you will always see two paths. One easy and the other difficult. The easy one will give you a lot of happiness initially, but in the end you will lose. The difficult path will test you, strain you, but in the end you will win.”

It’s important not to give up. One should not give up on himself and on his destiny. When one door closes, another opens up. The delay may seem challenging but everything works out in the end… if it is destined to work.

When things are not in your control, let them flow….let them go by….Just wait for the right moment.

Imagine ….you want to cross a road and there is heavy traffic. There is no way you can control the traffic. You have to ‘wait’ for the traffic to stop for the red signal …and then you can cross the road. Then the path will be clear….right in front of your eyes.

Wait for that moment…. Just wait….

In the worst case scenario, when you are stuck in a locked room…..Knock on each door that you see, look out through each window….keep knocking, keep looking, keep trying….Do not judge any opportunity…Do not judge yourself….. If you are destined to live, breathe and be successful, you will be.

Do not give up on your destiny and your life, until destiny gives up on you and your life.

Some things are not in our control and we need not be in their control.
