Mind, Body, Heart and Pain….

Wellness_thumb[2]

It’s amazing how our mind, body and heart pull us in different directions….

Our heart feels the pain but our mind asks us to move on…. Our body feels the pain but the mind says, I don’t feel anything….

When I go for my physiotherapy sessions , I notice how different people are suffering from various pains. Some aren’t able to move their arm all the way, some can’t move their neck…but that’s not the main point…… The main point is that when the instructor asks them “Do you feel a pain at this point, this looks sore.” They say, “No, I don’t feel anything!”….

As we all neglect our bodies and don’t take care of our health, pain becomes an integral part of our life. It becomes difficult to disconnect the body from the pain. You know it’s there yet you don’t feel how much, how often and how to deal with it?

There is a hindi saying, “Pehle kaya, phir saya, phir maya”…which means ..”First body, second partner/family, third wealth.”….however only a small percentage of people follow this priority order.

The synchronization between mind, body and heart is so difficult to establish that our entire life can be spent in trying to achieve it.

I think there should be courses that teach people how  to maintain your internal thought balance, when your heart and mind pull you in different directions.

Meditation is probably a key to achieving this….

Can’t write more right now…. Stuff to do 🙂 …Will write more later!

Rise above Stress.

ImageStress drains you out…. It takes away all your positive energy and enthusiasm.
It makes you feel you are not loved….that no one is with you and you are left all by yourself to handle life’s struggles.

Stress makes you vulnerable.

Do you realize when you are stressed? What do you do to come out of it? Can you recognize your emotions, your body behavior when you are stressed? Do you just give into it?

When you recognize that you are stressed… keep away from other people ….because it is quite possible that you will let out your negative energy in the form of anger, anxiety or complaints.

Handle your stress – accept it. Think how can things be made better and ….if you are unable to think – just try to make yourself feel better. Don’t think too much.

Do something you like – all by yourself. Manage your energy levels. Refill yourself with love. Recharge your energies.

You give out what you have within. If you have stress, you give out stress. If you have love, you give out love.

Rise above stress. Rise above your weaknesses. Don’t let stress make you feel weak. Don’t let it overpower you.

You have the power to change your emotions, without complaints, without any disagreements. It comes with practice, like everything else in life.

Maintain one hobby that reduces your stress. Pursue it when ever you feel you are not giving out ‘happy energies’. It will refill you with love and those vibes will be reflected outside.

You are what you feel within. Rise above stress.

Deal with Pain (asap)

Pain in any form (physical or mental) is not good for our body and our life. It is important to deal with pain as soon as possible, but before that, it is even more important to recognize the pain in our lives.

If some activities, things or people have given us pain, they are bound to give us pain again. There are no ifs and buts to it. However, a lot of us expect things to change and believe that we can live with pain. That’s an incorrect notion.

I have also realized that pain if not controlled, always grows bigger. At no point, does it get smaller.

For example, many people ignore small things about their health. When those issues turn into big pain areas, that’s when they actually take action. If we deal with a problem when it is small, we can stop it from getting big.

Our body is the center of ‘our universe’. We hurt ourselves many times by letting other things hurt us.

Pain can be physical or mental. If someone puts us down or makes us feel, we are not capable enough, we are pained. If someone does not understand us or makes fun of us, that is pain too.

There was a little girl. When she used to go to school, people would always make fun of her. They criticized her habits and her way of thinking. She never responded back. She kept the pain inside her. When she grew big, one of her friends told her that: “When people make fun of you or hurt you, tell them politely that you are being hurt. Tell them in front of others so that they realize their mistake. Deal with the problem before it gets bigger.” She started doing so and her pain was reduced.

How many pain areas of our life are we not dealing with yet? Are we scared to accept and express our emotions? Are we wounded but trying to hide it. Confront your weaknesses and the people who make you feel weak.

Focus on your health and well being. Deal with pain asap and do not let it grow any bigger. Take out time for your mental and physical health. Do not overburden yourself with other things that you forget your own self.

Feel it. Express it. Relieve it. But do not live with it.

Health is more important than wealth….

There is a famous english proverb: “Health is Wealth”. However, I now believe that “Health is more important than wealth”.
Its easier to regain “wealth” after losing it. However, it may not be so easy to regain back health.

How much importance do we give to health in our lives?
Do we tell little children how important health is right from the beginning? Do we make them understand?  Are there any special courses designed to explain the importance of health?

As an adult, I think I still don’t understand the importance of health at times, or fail to realize or “accept” it. I get tempted to eat chocolates, brownies, junk foods, although I know they may not be the healthiest foods.

It is important to consciously tell yourself what is healthy and what is not.Its not easy but its essential. I wish we all focused on health(physical and mental) and not wealth.

Imagine if parents told their kids that…
“Until the age of 25, you have to earn as much good health as you can.
From age 25-40 try to maintain good health levels…
From age 40-55 ensure that you take extra care…
Age 55 and after, try to remain as happy as you can…”
AND
“Take out time to exercise throughout your life.”

Can “maintaining good health” become a culture? Would people start appreciating other people based on how healthy they are, and not how wealthy they are?

I wonder…..

It is important for every individual to bring the health discipline in his/her life.
Not next week, not tomorrow, but TODAY -> RIGHT NOW.
